Representatives of the University of Dunaújváros visited the Rajkot Campus of Marwadi University between 22-24 November 2021, primarily to promote and further develope the cooperation between the two institutions.
The Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi and the Marwadi University (Rajkot, India) organized a three-day program with the support from the Department for Science Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, at the Rajkot Campus of the Marwadi University between 22-24 November 2021, in order promote and further develope the cooperation between the two countries and institutions.
The University of Dunaújváros was represented by Dr. László Balázs, Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Andrea Keszi-Szeremlei, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences, and József Vágó, Coordinator of International Relations.
The event was also attended by H.E. András László Király, Ambassador of Hungary to New Delhi, and Dr. Hilda Farkas, Counsellor for Science and Technology.
The idea to organize the event arose after the two universities signed a double degree agreement in January 2021. Within the framework of this agreement MU students study and fulfill the first 6 semesters of their study program at Marwadi University and following that they spend 2 or 3 semesters at UOD depending on the content of their bachelor study program at MU. At the end of the complete study process, upon successfull graduation, the students receive the bachelor degree certificate from both universities.
On the first day of the program series, the Hungarian delegation was welcomed by Professor Sandeep Sancheti, Rector of the University of Marwadi, and Professor Naresh Jadeja, Secretary General of the University.
On 23 November the UOD delegation had the opportunity to hold open discussions with the various faculties of the University of Marwadi in order to identify further possible areas of cooperation between the two institutions.
As the main program of the official visit, a conference was organised at MU on 24 November on scientific and academic cooperation between the University of Marwadi and the University of Dunaújváros. Following the welcome speeches of the Provost and the Hungarian Ambassador, UOD delegation members introduced the University of Dunaújváros, its International Relationships, Research Areas and Projects. One of the presentation was dedicated to present in detail the double degree possibility to MU students.
In the afternoon MU students could find out more about the University of Dunaújváros and ask their questions to the Hungarian delegation members about Hungary, UOD and the double degree program in the framework of a market place event.
