A large Hungarian delegation took part in the International Education Fair in Astana, Kazakhstan between 23rd and 24th June, which was organized by the Association of Kazakhstan President’s Bolashak International Scholarship Fellows collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In organizing this fair the 2nd Summit Meeting of Ministers for Education from the EU and Central Asia.

On the exhibition besides nine other Hungarian higher educational institutions and the Ministry of Human Capacities, the University of Dunaújváros were also represented.  Yerlan Sagadiyev, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan – who had the privilege to open the event – also visited the Hungarian delegation and expressed his acknowledgement. According to him there is a raising awareness towards Hungary from Kazakhstani students, and the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship provides the students of the country with a unique and excellent opportunity. He was also pleased that the available places concerning the scholarship have been further widened. To the programme of the delegation joined András Baranyi, Ambassador, who greeted the people showing an interest in the presentation of the Hungarian delegation about their country and higher education opportunities. Later on he visited the booths of the Hungarian institutions.

Although the fair took place after the study period at the schools, quite a large number of students paid a visit to the exhibition. Also local high school students are well aware that soon they need to choose their path, therefore many parents took their children to inquire about different requirements, conditions of selecting a foreign institution. The fact that Astana organizes the World’s Fair EXPO 2017, where they have recently opened the Hungarian stall, gave the event an elevated rank.
