The University of Dunaújváros hosted the general assembly of the HÖOK (The National Union of Students in Hungary) Northwest Hungarian Region on the 31st May.

The main purpose of the assembly was to appoint the regional President – and we are proud to announce that the President of the UOD Student Union was elected President of the region!

Representatives from the Student Unions of institutions arrived the univeristy’s campus on the 31st May. After a short campus tour, the general assembly had began where the representatives of the region’s universities, such as the University of Dunaújváros, the Széchenyi István University, and the University of Pannonia and the leaders of the The National Union of Students in Hungary, elected Imre Kalocsai as the President of the HÖOK Northwest Hungarian Region. His tasks will include the cohesion of the region, the representation of the region moreover he will have right to vote in the HÖOK’s decision-making sessions and committee. Furthermore, the General Assembly unanimously elected Eszter Máté, President of the Student Union of Széchenyi István University, the Vice-President of the EHÖK of the region. The meeting was followed by dinner, that continued with free program.

 

 

We asked Imre Kalocsai how he feels about the decision of the assembly. We learned that he welcomed the presidency, awaites the tasks ahead of him, and was pleased to see that three representatives of the The National Union of Students in Hungary participated in the general assembly, including László Murai, President of HÖOK.
